If you ask anyone what Shane Thompson is known for, they’ll probably tell you something that relates to his generous spirit and willingness to share. Whether that means sharing his plentiful homegrown veggies, his home cooking, or his breadth and depth of industry knowledge and experience.
What was it like to apply for the role?
From the outset the process was seamless, the HR team were very efficient and kept me informed throughout. The interview process was structured and the interviewers made me feel at ease. Once the offer of employment was made, all the background checks were completed very quickly.
What are your thoughts on Tiimely's company values?
Tiimely has four very relevant values that you own as an employee, and the one that resonates the most with me is “We make time to be human”. Tiimely ensures that its people interact with each other, not just in a day-to-day employment capacity, but in a social way as well. We are not a number and we are not treated like one...we are "human".
What do you find most rewarding about your role?
Helping everyday people realise their dream of homeownership as well as offering a digital platform that challenges the traditional way to apply for finance.
What were your thoughts when you first stepped out of the lift and into the Tiimely office?
I felt very comfortable. The staff were very welcoming, and I even knew a few of them from previous employers.
What was your previous role?
Branch manager at one of the four major banks.
How would you explain your role in 10 words or less?
Assessment of digital home loan applications, providing exceptional customer outcomes.
How did you get started in your field?
I had been in the hospitality industry for over 10 years and a change of career beckoned, so I applied with a bank and have been in the finance industry ever since.
What are you reading or listening to right now?
I have a very eclectic range of music that I listen to. I don’t have a favourite artist. If I like a song whether it be from 50 years ago or the latest release, I will add it to my playlist.

Robin Williams, Vincent Van Gogh, Sir David Attenborough and Halle Berry.
What hobby are you into right now?
Gardening.
